NASHUA – Christopher Gassett, 57, of Newport, was taken into custody on March 27 on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated felonious sexual assault.

According to the Nashua Police Department, on Feb. 28, officers took a report from a 28-year-old female, who allegedly said she was sexually assaulted by Gassett at a Nashua residence in 2024.

The investigation was continued by the Special Investigations Division. Gassett has been charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and two counts of simple assault.

Under state law, if convicted, Gassett could face up to 42 years in prison and up to $4,000 in fines.

He was held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on March 28.
