DRACUT, Mass – Catie’s Closet recently announced that its 14th annual gala, A Night to Open Doors, will be held on March 22 at Andover Country Club, 60 Canterbury St. in Andover, Mass.
This highly-anticipated event welcomes current and new Catie’s Closet supporters to enjoy an evening filled with food, drinks, live music, dancing, and the chance to win exclusive auction and raffle items, all while raising funds to provide children in need with free access to clothing and basic necessities.
“This year’s gala coincides with our 15th anniversary, and we are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with our wonderful community,” said Mickey Cockrell, CEO and co-founder of Catie’s Closet. “Every year, we are amazed by the support we receive during this event, and we anticipate another unforgettable evening. Our gala is essential to continue our mission of helping children in need thrive in school and life.”
Catie’s Closet’s goal is to raise $375,000, which will help the organization expand into new cities and serve more children in need. The organization currently serves 100,000 students across 140 schools in 11 Massachusetts and New Hampshire school districts. As poverty and homelessness rise, children’s and teen’s mental health and educational outcomes are on the decline. Free access to clothing and basic necessities gives them the confidence to attend school, feel good about themselves, and disrupt the cycle of poverty.
The gala theme is Sparkle and Shine: Every Child Deserves to Feel Like a Star. All funds raised will help Catie’s Closet give children in crisis on-site and on-demand access to clothing and other essentials through its In-School Closet Program and SOS Urgent Program.
