Nashua man facing four special felonies for drug sales

NASHUA – Remi Barrera, 37, of Nashua was taken into custody on Feb. 11 in connection with the possession and sale of crack cocaine and fentanyl.
According to the Nashua Police Department, officers in the Narcotics Intelligence Division began investigating Barrera after they were informed that he was allegedly selling drugs in the city.
Nashua’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team placed him under arrest with assistance from the Massachusetts National Guard Counter Drug Program. At the time, Barrera was reportedly out on bail.
Barrera was charged with three counts of sale of a controlled drug (crack cocaine) and possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute (fentanyl).
He was held on preventative detention and was arraigned in Nashua District Court on Feb. 12. Barrera was ordered to remain in custody until his next court appearance.
Under state law, if convicted, Barrera could face up to 120 years in prison and up to $2 million in fines.
In May 2024, Barrera was arrested by Nashua Police and charged with robbery and kidnapping.
