United Way announces Shoebox Project for Seniors
NASHUA – For seven years, the United Way of Greater Nashua has brought care to more than 2,500 homebound seniors.
This Valentine’s season, the organization aims to brighten the days of 500 more seniors supported by Gateways Community Services, AmeriCorps Senior Companions, Meals on Wheelsand The Caregivers.
Residents can donate items such as:
-Puzzle books and healthy recipe books
-Note cards and stamps
-Colored pencils and adult coloring books
-Travel-size toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)
-Hot chocolate, tea and coffee bags
Items can be dropped off at the United Way office, 20 Broad St. during the week from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline for donations is Jan. 31 at 4 p.m.
