Marguerite’s Place chosen for $30K grant from Chick-fil-A

NASHUA – Marguerite’s Place recently received a $30,000 grant from Chick-fil-A as part of the company’s True Inspiration Award program.

The grant will fund an expansion project that is expected to be the “most significant evolution” in the organization’s 31-year history.

During the next two years, Marguerite’s Place will be constructing a four-story building at 106 Pine St. At 18,235 square feet, the development will increase transitional housing by 50 percent and expand the number of childcare openings from 30 to 50.

“As we look to the future, we are doubling down on our commitment to families by expanding our housing and broadening our community programs to provide support to families across the community,” said Hannah Stohler, executive director of Marguerite’s Place. “As Nashua grows, so does the number of families in need. Thanks to community partners like Chick-fil-A, whose $30,000 grant directly supports our expansion, Marguerite’s Place is proud to be that place of support for families for tomorrow and the next 31 years.”

Within 90 days of entering the housing program at Marguerite’s Place, 100 percent of individuals are either employed or are enrolled in continuing education. In addition, 93 percent of children have reached their developmental milestones in the childcare and preschool programs.

“Chick-fil-A Nashua is supporting Marguerite’s Place because of the incredible services and education they provide for our area’s families in need,” said Kristy Donaghy, marketing director for Chick-fil-A Nashua. “They empower these families with employment support, housing, early childhood education and economic empowerment classes to make their transition to independent living very successful. We chose to nominate Marguerite’s Place for a Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Award as the services they provide fit perfectly in the award category of caring for communities. It is truly a unique program as it empowers, educates and cares for the whole family unit to change their lives in an extraordinary way.”
