Info session for Rivier Institute for Senior Education slated for Jan. 10
NASHUA – The Spring information session for the Rivier University Institute for Senior Education has been scheduled for Jan. 10, 2025.
The information session will be held from 1-3 p.m. at Rivier’s Dion Center, 16 Clement St. In the event of inclement weather, the information session will be held on Jan. 17.
New, prospective and returning members are invited to attend the information session, bring a friend, enjoy refreshments and meet RISE members. RISE facilitators will be available to talk about their courses. Door prizes will be awarded. Parking is available across the street from the Dion Center, with handicap parking available adjacent to the building.
The Spring 2025 course schedule and descriptions will be posted at rise-rivier.wildapricot.org on Jan. 6. Registration for the Spring term is Jan. 10-27. The 10-week-long Spring semester begins on Feb. 3 and ends on April 11.
A free six-session online Winter Showcase will be held on Jan. 15, 22 and 29 at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Information about the Winter Showcase will be posted at rivier.edu/rise.
RISE offers a variety of courses to individuals over age 55 who are dedicated to lifelong learning. Spring 2025 classes are offered on-campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Courses span a range of topics including literature, history, current events, writing, technology, art history, personal enrichment, science, religion, health, exercise, film and music.
There are no grades, no tests and no credit for courses taken. Members thrive in an environment with no pressure and lots of encouragement, social interaction, and engagement.
The RISE program, “Where Curiosity Never Retires,” has offered classes at Rivier for 27 years. It is an affiliate of the Road Scholar Institute Network.
