MERRIMACK — Wanda Navarro, 63, of Brimfield, Mass., was killed on the afternoon of Dec. 8 when the Dodge Ram pickup truck she was riding in crashed into two other vehicles on the F.E. Everett Turnpike.
According to State Police, the crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on the northbound side of the Turnpike near Exit 12.
Upon arrival, state troopers and members of the Merrimack Fire and Rescue Department found the vehicles with serious damage and other people with injuries.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the Dodge Ram, driven by James Navarro, 69, also of Brimfield, Mass., was traveling south when it crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic. James Navarro then reportedly collided with a GMC Sierra pickup truck and a Nissan Versa sedan.
Wanda Navarro was rushed to Elliot Hospital in Manchester where she was later pronounced dead. James Navarro sustained minor injuries in the crash. In addition, a passenger in the GMC Sierra was also taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The northbound side of the Turnpike and the left lane on the southbound side were closed for about three hours.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
