YMCA of Greater Nashua reflects on 2024
NASHUA – The YMCA of Greater Nashua presented its 2024 Annual Impact Report at the 137th Annual Meeting on Nov. 14, reflecting on the year’s achievements and future goals.
This year has been one of growth and achievement, as the Y reached an incredible milestone of serving more than 48,000 individuals, 18,000 of whom are under 18, the highest number ever. This record reflects the unwavering commitment to meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of Greater Nashua residents. The success is largely thanks to a dedicated staff, selfless volunteers and generous donors who support the Y mission and work tirelessly to make a difference.
Through diverse, high-quality programs and a welcoming, supportive atmosphere at the many branches of the Y, everyone feels valued and accepted. Thanks to the generosity of the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s supporters, it was able to provide more than $1.5 million in financial assistance and free community programs, making it possible for children and families facing financial barriers to enjoy the Y and receive vital services in their community.
The Y’s efforts garnered recognition locally and nationally this year, including several prestigious awards that celebrate their commitment to the community. Among these were Non-Profit of the Year by the Merrimack/Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce and Community Advocate of the Year by Eastern Bank. Additionally, the Y was honored as Community Partner of the Year by the New Hampshire College Presidents and recognized as a Program Champion by the U.S. Department of Education for their Power Scholars Program.
“Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier and more inclusive Greater Nashua — one that is ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow,” said Y CEO Michael LaChance. “We look forward to another year of positive change, growth and impact with you by our side.”
The Y is also looking ahead with excitement. Major investments are already in the works for each of their four facilities and they’re expanding their reach through strategic partnerships, enriching volunteer opportunities and innovative programs that support the region’s most vulnerable populations. As always, the organization’s focus remains on fostering a sense of achievement, nurturing relationships, and creating a true sense of belonging for everyone in the Greater Nashua community.
