United Way to host second Care-E-Oke competition on Nov. 15
NASHUA – The United Way of Greater Nashua will be hosting its second annual Care-E-Oke fundraiser on Nov. 15.
The event will be held at the Nashua Center for the Arts, 201 Main St. and will begin at 7 p.m. This exciting karaoke competition invites participants of all vocal talents to perform in front of a live audience while supporting critical community programs.
Hosted by George Russell, a beloved personality known for his entertaining style, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. With his charismatic presence, Russell is sure to keep the energy high throughout the night.
Last year’s Care-E-Oke was full of impressive performances. Among the crowd favorites were The Baby Beatles, who took the stage with a heartwarming rendition of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles.
Last year’s standout winners included:
-Melissa Huske, who won the People’s Choice Award for her performance of “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin.
-Tanya Gavel, named Best Soloist for her rendition of “Cry Pretty” by Carrie Underwood.
-Ledgers for Life, a group from Ledge Street Elementary School, who won Greatest Group for its version of “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins.
Other notable performances came from Armand Prescott with his rendition of “Why Don’t We Just Dance” by Josh Turner and Felipe Collazo, who rocked the crowd with “Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears.
Care-E-Oke raises crucial funds for United Way of Greater Nashua’s community safety net, supporting 24 local nonprofit organizations in the areas of health, education and economic mobility. Programs like Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County, Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity and Operation Delta Dog benefit from the funds raised at this event.
As an extra incentive, all ticket holders will receive 50 percent off all maintenance services at Best Ford of Nashua. This includes alignments, brakes and fluid services. Just present the coupon at the time of purchase. Please note that this discount is valid on labor costs only.
