NASHUA – Ruby Shabazz of Nashua was recently named as one of 12 nominees for a 2024 New England Music Award in the Soul/R&B Act of the Year category.

Each year, the New England Music Awards nominates more than 100 artists and/or bands spanning a number of categories and genres. The NEMA Nomination Committee then selects a winner in each category.

“Win or lose, I’m looking forward to a fantastic night of talented musicians from every genre gathered in one room,” said Shabazz. “I appreciate being included and it feels great to be recognized for all the hard work.”

Shabazz has released a number of singles this year along with accompanying music videos. Two of which have charted on the Urban Influencer R&B/Soul chart for Independent Artists. She is also the winner of the 2024 New England Songwriting Competition in the Urban/R&B category and was featured on WMUR’s New Hampshire Chronicle music series in May.
