NASHUA – Southern New Hampshire Health recently announced that increased patient access to valuable radiology services is now available with a new GE Healthcare Omni PET/CT scanner.
With the addition of this new cutting-edge technology, oncology patients and those with other conditions needing advanced imagery, can count on Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for greater access to this care.
“Having greater access to the latest imaging technology within our hospital will enhance our ability to diagnose and treat cancer at its earliest stages,” said Dr. Gautami Rao of Foundation Hematology/Oncology. “An investment in this technology is an investment in our fight against cancer, offering more hope and better health to our patients.”
The technology has a dedicated location and staff at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, opening opportunities for potential new uses in the future. Southern New Hampshire Health will continue innovating with new ways to use the technology as new approvals from the federal Food and Drug Administration come forward and new studies are possible.
“Innovation benefiting patient care is a priority for Southern New Hampshire Health,” said Colin McHugh, president and CEO of Southern New Hampshire Health. “Our investment in on-site, leading imaging technology is an example of this focus on innovation and is an important step in aligning our commitment to increase access to healthcare services to our community – bringing excellence in care closer to home.”
The purchase of this new equipment was assisted by funding from Congressionally Directed Spending Grants from U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s office.
