MERRIMACK – A check for more than $168,000 was recently presented to the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, marking the successful conclusion of Volta Oil’s 13th annual Purple Pump Up Campaign.

During the summer, Rapid Refill Convenience and Garrett’s Family Market stores partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association to bolster awareness and raise funds to benefit Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

The campaign ran from May 24 to July 14, allowing customers visiting any of the participating locations the opportunity to contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association either at the gas pump or within the stores. Additionally, on June 20, in alignment with the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day fundraising and awareness initiative, a donation of five cents from every gallon of gas sold was allocated to support the cause.

“Purple Pump Up’s significant fundraising efforts play a crucial role in advancing our research and strengthening the support we provide to local families facing the challenges of this disease,” said James Wessler, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter. “We deeply appreciate the meaningful impact Volta Oil and their customers have made on the lives of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and their loved ones.”

Garrett Family Market’s Purple Pump Up is the largest cause marketing campaign of its kind in the New England Region to benefit the Association. Since the campaign began, it has raised nearly $1.5 million for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter.

“I would like to thank our store personnel for all of the effort they put in to make this year’s Purple Pump Up a resounding success,” said James Garrett, chairman of Volta Oil. “We are also grateful for our loyal customers who, year after year, demonstrate their generosity and help us in our fight for a world without Alzheimer’s.”

He also acknowledged Volta Oil’s Trade partner sponsors.

“Without the sponsors, our campaign would not be such a great success,” said Garrett.

Platinum sponsors who supported this year’s Purple Pump Up campaign include Coca-Cola, CoreMark, Global, Kelliher Corbett Group and Pepsi. Gold sponsors include Citgo, Zen Water and New England Ice Cream.
