Hudson man dies in Greenville motorcycle crash

GREENVILLE – Raymond Russell, Jr., 56, of Hudson, was killed on the afternoon of Aug. 24 when his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a Subaru Legacy driven by Cole Gibson, 23, New Ipswich.

According to Greenville Police, officers responded to the intersection of Rt. 31 and Wilton Road at 12:26 p.m. The preliminary investigation suggests that Russell was traveling south on Rt. 31 as Gibson was turning left onto Rt. 31 from Old Wilton Road. At that time, Russell reportedly struck the driver’s side of Gibson’s vehicle.

Russell died at the scene while his passenger, whose identity has not been released, was taken via Boston MedFlight to an area hospital with serious injuries. Gibson was also taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Additional information about the crash was not available as the incident remains under investigation.

According to his obituary, Russell was born on April 23, 1968 in Saugus, Mass. and was a 1986 graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson.

Professionally, he spent 13 years as a dispatch manager at R & L Carriers in Manchester.

Russell also belonged to the Rising Sun Lodge #39, Free & Accepted Masons in Nashua.
