Blackwell returns to Hudson as principal of Library Street School
HUDSON – After three years as assistant principal at Amherst Street Elementary School in Nashua, Amy Blackwell has rejoined the Hudson School District as the principal of Library Street School.
“While I am very grateful for all that Nashua School District and their leadership provided me as I started off as an administrator, I’m excited to be returning to the Hudson School District where I spent the first 22 years of my career,” said Blackwell. “I wanted to return to Hudson as the timing of this opportunity was aligned with my readiness to advance my career and the chance to be involved once again with the kindergarteners of Hudson.”
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Daniel Moulis, who has led the district since July 2022, said he is thrilled to have Blackwell back in the district.
“The Hudson School District is pleased to announce that Amy Blackwell will be the principal at Library Street School,” he said. “The district is fortunate to have her as the instructional leader for Library Street School. She will be working to develop relationships with families, students and staff as we begin the new school year. Please help us welcome her back to the Hudson School District.”
Blackwell began her career teaching fourth grade and kindergarten at Library Street and Nottingham West Elementary School from 1999 to 2017. From there, she went on to become an elementary academic interventionist at Nottingham West and Hills Garrison Elementary School. After three years in that position, Blackwell taught third grade at the Remote Learning Academy during the 2020-2021 school year.
Blackwell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College and a Master’s degree in Education from Rivier University. She also received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
The new school year also marks the arrival of Jessica Benson, who will be the district’s assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. Before coming to Hudson, Benson was the principal of Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond
In addition, the School Board has extended Moulis’ contract through June 2027. He has now been a superintendent for the past seven years having served in the same capacity in the Barrington School District from 2017 to 2022.
“The School Board is committed to improving student academic performance, the recruitment and retention of high-quality teachers and staff, collaboration and positive growth for the Hudson School District,” said School Board Chairwoman Maureen Dionne. “We are happy to have Superintendent Moulis’ continued leadership in these efforts. Since assuming the position two years ago, he has excelled in his commitment to the students and staff and the Board’s decision reflects our confidence in his ability to lead the district. The School Board looks forward to the implementation of a new strategic plan and believes he is the best person to provide stability and continuous progress toward achieving the district’s goals.”
The 2024-25 school year is set to begin for all students on Aug. 26.
