Tyngsborough Police continues partnership with Middlesex Sheriff’s Office for Youth Public Safety Academy
TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. — The Tyngsborough Police Department announced that it will continue to partner with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office during the MSO’s recent Youth Public Safety Academy.
The annual event offers Tyngsborough youth a unique opportunity to engage with public safety professionals and learn important skills in a fun and educational environment.
Throughout the week, young cadets from Tyngsborough joined other participants from across the county to take part in safety-related activities and training sessions hosted by the MSO.
As part of the academy’s agenda, each group of cadets returns to their hometowns for a special day of local engagement. In Tyngsborough, School Resource Officer Christopher Gustafson provided the cadets with a comprehensive tour of the Tyngsborough Police and Fire Departments. The cadets were able to see firsthand the inner workings of public safety facilities and meet the officers and firefighters who serve their community.
Following the tours, the group enjoyed an afternoon of fun and recreation at Max’s Country Golf, where they played mini golf, used the batting cages and participated in other activities.
“The Tyngsborough Police Department is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this annual event, which allows us to spend meaningful time with the young members of our community,” said Deputy Chief Shaun Woods. “Building relationships with our youth is a priority, and we are thankful to the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office for making this possible each year. We look forward to continuing this tradition and strengthening the bonds between our department and the community we serve.”
“I want to thank the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office for giving us this opportunity, for doing this each year and for running such a great academy all week long,” said Chief Richard Howe. “The MSO allows us to send Tyngsborough youth to their academy for a week full of great lessons and relationship building. I also want to thank Officer Gustafson for his work with the youth and Max’s Golf for its support.”
