Rotary West to host seventh annual Duck Derby Oct. 12
NASHUA – The Rotary Club of Nashua West will be hosting its seventh annual Duck Derby on Oct. 12.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. and is Rotary West’s flagship fundraiser.
Ten thousand rubber ducklings will again float down the Nashua River this year, launching from the Millyard Technology Park at 10 Technology Way.
This year’s event promises to be filled with tons of family fun activities and events. Food trucks and games and activities for adults and children will also be available.
All proceeds will go to benefit 40 area nonprofit educational, health, human services and youth organizations. It also provides $15,000 in scholarships for qualified high school seniors and allows the club an opportunity to support international humanitarian programs.
Cash prizes will be awarded to three winners: $2,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $500 for third place.
The club is currently looking for individual and corporate sponsors. Anyone interested should reach out to Carolyn Oguda at carolyn.n.oguda@gmail.com.
Anyone who would like to purchase ducks can do so for $5 each or through the following adoption packages: a six quack for $25, a quackers dozen for $50 or a flock for $100.
