NASHUA – Stephane Webster, 51, of Nashua, was arrested on July 30 for an alleged theft at the Nashua Soup Kitchen as well as for entering Martha’s Exchange on two occasions after hours and stealing bottles of alcohol.

According to police, on July 11, officers were notified that Webster had taken debit cards and a cellphone from a volunteer’s purse at the Nashua Soup Kitchen. The victim’s identity has not been released.

On July 19 and July 30, an employee at Martha’s Exchange reportedly told police that the Main Street restaurant had been burglarized. After reviewing video surveillance footage, police determined that Webster was the suspect in each incident and took approximately $300 in liquor. According to police, he entered the restaurant through a back door which was left unlocked.

Webster has since been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of theft by unauthorized taking with two prior convictions.

Webster refused bail and was arraigned in Nashua District Court on July 31. He is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 7 for a probable cause hearing. The court also ordered that he undergo a mental health evaluation.

Under state law, if convicted, Webster could face up to 14 years in prison, up to 10 years probation and up to $8,000 in fines.

Earlier this year, Webster was arrested in connection with a burglary at Macy’s at the Pheasant Lane Mall, which allegedly took place on Feb. 24. He was charged with one count of theft by unauthorized taking with two prior convictions, one count of possession of a controlled drug and two counts of resisting arrest.

Going back to 2013, Webster, who was living in Somersworth at the time, was indicted on charges of theft, identity fraud, attempted fraudulent use of a credit card and receiving stolen property.
