HUDSON – Lwaboshi Simwerayi, 26, of Nashua, was arrested on July 18 in connection with a home invasion on Towhee Drive in Hudson.

According to police, Simwerayi forced his way into the home shortly after midnight.

Inside, a woman and her two children, whose identities have not been released, hid in the upstairs bathroom. According to police, Simwerayi was not known to any of them.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found clear signs of forced entry including broken doors and windows. Simwerayi was also reportedly heard yelling from the upstairs bedroom.

While being taken into custody, Simwerayi allegedly assaulted police and was subsequently hit with a stun gun. He was later taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries inflicted by the stun gun.

He has been charged with burglary in a dwelling at night, two counts of resisting arrest, simple assault on a peace officer, loitering/prowling and disorderly conduct.

Simwerayi was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on July 19. A bail hearing will be held later this month.

Under state law, if convicted, Simwerayi faces up to 18 years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000.
