NASHUA – George Palazzo, Jr., 54, of Nashua, was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to his involvement in the crash that took the lives of Massachusetts residents Anthony Clayton, 68, and Sayira Muriel, 51, late last summer.
On the afternoon of Sept. 17, 2023, Palazzo, who was driving a Chevy Silverado, crossed over the median at 139 Daniel Webster Hwy. and struck the Replica Rowe motorcycle in a head-on collision. Clayton and Muriel were pronounced dead at the scene.
While at the scene, officers determined that Palazzo was under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody. According to court documents, Palazzo told police that he had been drinking by himself for three hours prior to the crash, consuming three mai tai cocktails and two margaritas.
Attorney Eric Wilson, counsel for Palazzo, maintained that his client suffered from depression and alcohol abuse.
Palazzo pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter on July 15.
