North Hampton Police arrest Hudson man accused of $26K heist

NORTH HAMPTON — Chad Breault of Hudson was taken into custody on May 10 for allegedly stealing more than $26,000 in merchandise, including electrical breakers, from the Electric Barn in North Hampton.

According to police, the burglary took place on May 8 at approximately 7 p.m.

Further investigation suggested that Breault was trying to sell the stolen goods to a business in Amesbury, Mass. The name of the business has not been released.

According to police, employees at the Amesbury store quickly became suspicious that Breault was attempting to sell them stolen merchandise from the Electric Barn and contacted the authorities. Amesbury Police placed Breault under arrest while he was at the store on May 10.

The merchandise that was reportedly in Breault’s possession was returned to the Electric Barn.

In addition to being charged with burglary, Breault is facing charges in Massachusetts which include being a fugitive from justice.

He is being held in Massachusetts and will be arraigned in the Newburyport (Mass.) District Court at a later date.

Under state law, if convicted, Breault could face up to 12 years in prison, up to five years probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
