Merrimack Rotary to host Electronics Recycling Fundraiser on June 1

MERRIMACK – The Merrimack Rotary Club will host an Electronics Recycling Fundraiser on June 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Merrimack Town Hall, 6 Baboosic Lake Rd.

When residents arrive at the Town Hall, the Rotary Club will assess the recycling in accordance with the posted fee schedule. All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships and community projects.

Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to Merrimack Rotary Club.

The fee schedule is as follows:

Telephones, Smartboards, cables, hard drives (if already removed from computers), handheld video games, small speakers, calculators, answering machines, keyboards and mice — $5

Radios, stereos, CD/DVD/Blue Ray, modems, cameras, electronic typewriters, cell phones, tablets and iPads — $10

Desktop computers, laptops, projectors, fax machines, copiers, printers, servers, vacuums, game consoles and VCRs — $20

Televisions less than 27 inches, monitors, flat screens less than 27 inches, dehumidifiers, microwaves and large speakers — $25

Tube TVs, TVs 27 inches and larger and air conditioners — $35

TV or stereo wood consoles, projection TVs and very large speakers — $50

All items containing data will be secured until they are destroyed.

The following items will not be accepted: smoke detectors, oils, paints, thinners, batteries, tires, items containing mercury such as fluorescent lights, CFL light bulbs and other types of light bulbs, thermometers, capacitors, ballasts, hazardous waste, toxic waste or unlisted items.

The Rotary Club reserves the right to refuse any item which may be presented for electronic disposal during the fundraising event. It is also the sole responsibility and financial liability of any such presenting party to completely remove any such unaccepted object(s) from the event’s site immediately upon refusal.
