Nashua Garden Club to host annual plant sale on May 18
NASHUA – It’s spring in New Hampshire and members of the Nashua Garden Club have been hard at work preparing for the club’s annual plant sale on May 18.
Mark your calendar for this event to get great plants at great prices and to gather new ideas for your gardens. The plant sale will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and will run through noon at the Nashua Historical Society, 5 Abbott St. The sale will be held rain or shine, please note that only cash and checks will be accepted.
Experienced shoppers arrive early to get the widest choice of annuals, perennials, houseplants, vegetables and herbs. Many of these plants have been attentively raised and nurtured by Garden Club members. These knowledgeable gardeners, including several master gardeners, will be on hand during the sale to answer any questions and to help you pick the best plants for your spaces. Shoppers can also participate in the popular gift basket raffle to try their luck at winning one of a wide variety of creative, themed gift baskets. Bargain hunters will want to visit Jean’s Gems, a garden-themed tag sale for a fun selection of pots, lawn ornaments and other gardening tools.
The plant sale is the Garden Club’s only fundraiser. All proceeds will go toward community educational and beautification projects including the maintenance of Greeley Park’s Sensory Garden and the garden at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. The club also invites residents to attend club programs and hear expert speakers free of charge.
