By Staff | Mar 31, 2024

NASHUA – Residents with old household products that cannot be put in the trash or taken to the transfer station can bring them to one of the Household Hazardous Waste collection events in April and May.

The first collection event will take place on April 20 from 8 a.m. to noon at 9 Stadium Dr. in Nashua. The second collection is scheduled for May 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at 289 South St. in Milford. Residents of Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Pelham and Windham are welcome.

There is a $15 fee per vehicle which pays for up to 10 gallons or 20 pounds of waste. Fees may be paid by cash or check. Carpooling with neighbors is encouraged.

Common household products that are corrosive, flammable or toxic are accepted, including oil-based paints, lead paint, solvents, oven cleaners, pool chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, drain openers and auto chemicals. Please, no containers larger than five gallons.

Latex/acrylic paint, electronics and medication will not be accepted. For a complete list of accepted items, visit www.nashuarpc.org/hhw or call the Nashua Regional Planning Commission 603-417-6570.

Businesses that would like to participate should call the NRPC to register at least two weeks before the event.

Keeping household hazardous waste out of the trash, off the ground and out of the water supply protects fish, wildlife and people. Removing old chemicals from your home can also prevent injuries to children and pets.
