NASHUA – Mount Pleasant Elementary School recently kicked off the month of February with a book giveaway and a visit from author Marek Bennett.

During Bennett’s visit, students created a graphic novel and learned about combining art with storytelling. The visit promoted literacy and showed how some childhood hobbies can turn into lifelong passions.

The event was made possible with a $25,000 “Year of the Book” grant that the school received from the Children’s Literacy Foundation.
