NASHUA – At just eight years old, Malcolm Leger has battled cancer not once, but twice and is an inspiration to everyone around him.

So, it was only fitting that Make-A-Wish New Hampshire grant Malcolm’s request for a custom-made Mandalorian suit of armor on Feb. 3 at Optiline Enterprises.

An integral part of the Star Wars franchise, the Mandalorians were intergalactic warriors known for their epic battles against the Jedi Order.

After arriving at Optiline in a limousine escorted by the Nashua Police, Malcolm was greeted with a standing ovation from friends, family and a group of live Mandalorian characters.

“Optiline Enterprises has been and continues to be a remarkable supporter of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire,” said Olivia Stanas, Community Outreach coordinator at Make-A-Wish. “They truly go above and beyond to make our wish families feel loved and to let them know that they are never fighting alone. We are so grateful that Optiline has once again extended their generosity and opened up their office to host Malcolm’s wish day.”

Optiline owner Thomas Bolduc spoke about his support for Make-A-Wish.

“At Optiline, we are all about creating partnerships that lead to success,” he said. “Make-A-Wish has allowed us to realize the impossible is possible with the unity of great people.”

Since 1986, nearly 1,700 wishes have been granted by the New Hampshire Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Trips to Disney World continue to be the most popular request and account for 70 percent of the wishes. Other top choices include watching cheetahs in the wild and beach picnics.
