Nashua Fire Rescue announces three promotions
NASHUA – Fire Chief Stephen Buxton announced the following three promotions, which took effect on Jan. 21.
Adam Pouliot was promoted to assistant fire chief, a position returning to the department after a 16-year absence. Pouliot has been with Nashua Fire Rescue since 1999. He spent the last 12 years in the Fire Marshal’s Office, leading the division as Fire Marshal since 2018. Pouliot will oversee the Professional Standards Division of Nashua Fire Rescue.
Michael Curran was promoted to deputy fire chief. Curran is a 20-year veteran of Nashua Fire Rescue. He has been promoted through the ranks and most recently served as Captain of the Airport Fire Station. Curran has been assigned as the Shift Commander for Group 2.
Michael DuVarney was promoted to fire marshal. DuVarney was hired in May 2001. DuVarney was a member of both the Dive Team and Hazardous Materials Team. He served as a fire lieutenant before being promoted to fire investigator/inspector in 2022. DuVarney will oversee the Fire Marshal’s Office.
Pouliot, Curran and DuVarney will be officially sworn in on Jan. 28 at Nashua High School North, 8 Titan Way.
