BEDFORD – Kaitlyn Muise, 31, of Manchester, is facing a myriad of charges after allegedly taking State Police on a 14-mile chase from Bedford to Hooksett.

According to police, the incident began on Jan. 15 at approximately 8:43 a.m. when Muise was stopped by Trooper Shane Mason “for a number of violations.” The initial traffic stop was at exit 13 on the southbound side of the Everett Turnpike in Bedford.

Muise then reportedly sped away as Mason approached her vehicle.

Mason immediately pursued Muise onto Raymond Wieczorek Drive. She then reversed direction and began driving back toward the northbound side of the turnpike. Muise took the turnpike to Interstate 293 North and then exited onto Interstate 93 South. According to police, she was traveling in excess of 90 miles per hour during the pursuit.

Although Muise was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe, police discovered that the license plate belonged to a BMW.

In the interest of public safety, police decided to discontinue the chase. However, a short time later, police found that Muise’s vehicle had rolled over at exit 9S on I-93 South in Hooksett. Muise was able to get herself out of the vehicle and was evaluated by medical personnel before being taken into custody.

Muise is charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, operating a vehicle without an alcohol ignition interlock device, operating after suspension for DUI, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, misuse of plate and a defective equipment violation.

Under state law, if convicted, Muise could face up to 14 years in prison, up to five years probation and up to $5,750 in fines.

Muise was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack District Court on March 26.
