Incident is 50th DUI arrest in 2023

By Christopher Roberson - Staff Writer | Dec 27, 2023

HOLLIS – Heather Armhold, 39, of Hollis, has been charged with driving under the influence for the second time in the past year.

According to Hollis Police, on Dec. 26 at 8 p.m., officers responded to Broad Street for a vehicle that was allegedly “driving erratically.”

A short time later, officers found the vehicle parked with the engine on and Armhold behind the wheel. There were no passengers, according to police.

After further investigation, officers determined that Armhold was under the influence of alcohol and placed her under arrest. According to police, this was the 50th time this year that a suspect was arrested for impaired driving. Upon arrival at the Police Department, Armhold was having difficulty walking and reportedly fell in the booking room.

She was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and was released from police custody on personal recognizance.

In addition to a second DUI, Armhold is charged with breach of bail stemming from an arrest in November when she was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Under state law, if convicted, Armhold could face up to 14 years in prison and up to $2,130 in fines. Her driver’s license could be suspended for up to three years and an ignition interlock device would be needed once her driving privileges were reinstated.

Armhold will be arraigned at a later date in the Ninth Circuit Court of the Nashua District.
