City’s tax rate climbs by 16 cents

By Staff | Nov 22, 2023

NASHUA – The city’s tax rate for 2023 has been set by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration at $18.23 per $1,000 of valuation.

This rate represents an increase of 16 cents or .89 percent over last year.

“We know that last year’s state-ordered revaluation was hard for many homeowners. This year our goal has been to keep any increase in the tax rate to a minimum. This is the first time in 15 years the tax rate increased by less than one percent,” said Mayor James Donchess. “We continue to budget with fiscal discipline without compromising the quality of municipal services our residents receive.”

Property tax bills will be mailed on Nov. 29 and must be paid by Dec. 29.
