TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. — Police Chief Richard Howe is requesting the public’s assistance to find the individuals who allegedly assaulted a 77-year-old woman and stole her gold necklace on the afternoon of Nov. 6.
According to police, the woman, whose identity has not been released, told officers she was walking along Caroline Way when a black SUV pulled up next to her sometime between 3 and 3:30 p.m.
The vehicle was reportedly driven by a Hispanic male between 30 and 40 years old. He was accompanied by a Hispanic passenger, who was also in her 30s.
The woman in the passenger seat motioned for the victim to approach the SUV. As she did so, the female passenger allegedly “grabbed the victim by the back of her head and pulled her toward the vehicle, removing a gold necklace from the victim’s neck.”
According to police, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the altercation.
“We are asking anyone with home surveillance footage or information that could assist us to please come forward,” said Howe. “We are hoping our community can help us resolve this case and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
The necklace is a gold rope chain with a pendant containing a family photograph.
Anyone with information or surveillance footage is asked to contact Tyngsborough Police at 978-649-7504 or to email Det. Bethany Bonczar at bbonczar@tyngsboroughma.gov.
