Diversity and Inclusion Listening Session to be held at the Nashua Library Nov. 14

By Staff | Nov 8, 2023

NASHUA – As part of its ongoing Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, the New Hampshire Judicial Branch will be hosting a Listening Session at the Nashua Public Library on Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place in the large meeting room on the library’s lower level. The Listening Session will be moderated by Superior Court Judge David Ruoff, co-chair of the Judicial Branch’s Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee. Other judges and court personnel will also be participating.

“The goal of the listening sessions such as our upcoming event in Nashua is to get as much public feedback as possible from those who have had experiences with the courts in New Hampshire, find out how we are doing and what we might need to improve,” said Ruoff. “We are listening to the voices of New Hampshire residents as part of our Diversity and Inclusion initiative, recognizing both the growing diversity of New Hampshire and the need for inclusion of all people and communities in order to fulfill our constitutional mandate to provide equal justice and equal access to justice for all.”

Residents are welcome to attend. Anyone who joins the Listening Session will have opportunities to share feedback with court personnel around various discussion tables. A North Country Listening Session in Berlin last month gathered valuable feedback about court policies and procedures from a diverse group of residents. The information gathered will be integrated into goals for increasing diversity and inclusion in New Hampshire Judicial Branch operations and used to develop action plans to accomplish those goals.

Anyone requesting an ADA accommodation or language services for the upcoming Nashua listening session can do so by sending an email to DiversityInfo@courts.state.nh.us.
