HUDSON – Christopher Mahoney, 44, of Middleton, Mass. and Jill Cotter, 42, of Stoneham, Mass. were arrested by Hudson Police for their alleged involvement in the Sept. 19 burglary of The Great Eagle Motel on Sullivan Road.

According to police, officers responded to the motel at 2:15 p.m. for the report of a past burglary.

During the preliminary investigation, police reportedly found signs indicating that forced entry had been made into one of the rooms that morning at approximately 5 a.m.

At 6:30 p.m., officers were notified about suspicious activity at the residence across the street from the motel, which was reportedly abandoned. Upon arrival, police found the residence to be locked from the inside.

Officers alleged that Mahoney and Cotter had barricaded themselves in the house in an attempt to evade police. Both suspects were located in the basement and arrested without incident.

Mahoney and Cotter each face two counts of burglary and were arraigned at Hillsborough County Superior Court on Sept. 20. Cotter was released on personal recognizance; however, Mahoney was held on a $500 cash bail.

Under state law, if convicted, Mahoney and Cotter could face up to 15 years in prison.
