NCC receives national recognition for achievements in student success

By Staff | Sep 14, 2023

NASHUA – Education company EAB recently named Nashua Community College as one of five finalists for this year’s Return on Education Award.

The award “recognizes an institution that has seen significant and measurable results from its efforts to help students persist, graduate and thrive.”

“We are pleased to be recognized as a finalist for the Return on Education Award,” said NCC President Lucille Jordan. “At Nashua Community College, we have always kept student persistence and success at the heart of our mission.”

This is the 10th year in a row that EAB has recognized outstanding achievements in student success. Finalists were chosen from among the colleges, universities and individuals that use Navigate, EAB’s student success management system, or Starfish, the student success platform EAB acquired in 2021.

“Many of the students arriving on college campuses today were profoundly impacted by the pandemic and staff have to innovate to ensure these students receive the support they need,” said Scott Schirmeier, EAB’s president of Technology. “The finalists for EAB’s Student Success Collaborative Awards are rising to the challenge, leading with empathy, and using technology in smarter ways to help students achieve their goal of earning a college degree.”

The other finalists for the Return on Education Award include Ashland University, Columbus State Community College, Idaho State University and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The winner will be recognized at CONNECTED24, a three-day gathering of thousands of student success leaders from progressive community colleges as well as four-year colleges and universities in January 2024.
