Gate City Brewfest returning for ninth year

By Christopher Roberson - Staff Writer | Aug 9, 2023

NASHUA – Now in its ninth year, the ever popular Gate City Brewfest will be returning to Holman Stadium on Aug. 26 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Chelsea Dennis, spokesperson for Bellavance Beverage Co., which operates the Brewfest, said the annual event is held to benefit the Nashua Police Athletic League, adding that the Boston Billiard Club and Casino is this year’s title sponsor.

“Not only is it a great place for craft beer aficionados, but it is also a great place to bring the family,” she said. “There is live music, food trucks, kids activities, a showcase of local vendors and an array of samples of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products.”

Since its inception in 2014, Dennis said the Brewfest now offers a VIP ticket package and has continued to improve the overall operation of the event. According to the Brewfest website, 200 VIP tickets are available for $70 each. This package includes “access to all samples an hour early, a special VIP entrance line, an exclusive VIP seating area and a swag bag.” The cost of general admission ranges from $35 to $50. Children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.

“The event strives to grow the donation made to Nashua PAL each year,” she said. “Thanks to Boston Billiard Club and Casino’s partnership, they are confident they will be able to exceed their goal in 2023.”

Unlike prior years, Dennis said there will be a Ghost Energy jeep on-site this year as well as a Kona Brewing sampling bar and a social media scavenger hunt. The brewfest will also feature 20 new vendors and breweries.

Because the event is centered around alcohol, Dennis said a number of security measures will be in place. These include checking bags and identifications, having pourer training and having police officers throughout the event.

“The Nashua shuttle bus will be running from 12 to 5:45 p.m. to offer a free safe ride option,” she said.
