Bishop Guertin names Olivia Orlando new girls basketball coach

NASHUA — Bishop Guertin has named former Providence College and Tilton School standout and 2017 New Hampshire Gatorade Player of the Year Olivia Orlando as its new girls head basketball coach.

She replaces highly successful coach Brad Kreick, who stepped down after coaching the Cardinals to seven Division I titles (one shared) in his eight seasons as head coach, including back-to-back the last two years.

“We’re confident with her talents Olivia can continue that winning tradition,” Guertin athletic director Ryan Brown said in a release.

Orlando played in 95 games at Providence with 76 starts from 2017-21, and earned both her bachelor’s and Masters degrees in education. At Tilton, she is the program’s all-time leader in scoring, rebounding, steals and assists and was a three-time captain.

“I’m excited,” Orlando said,”to be able to give back to the sport that has already given so much to me, and to do it with an incredible BG squad.”
