MANCHESTER – Police will hold a press conference this afternoon at police headquarters in the wake of the overnight standoff at Quality Inn on John Devine Drive, which ended around 10 a.m.

Nashua SWAT team members had responded to assist Manchester and other agencies, and were working at the scene when the situation was resolved.

The time of the police press conference is pending, Capt. Brian O’Keefe said.

Stephen Marshall, a Manchester man about 50 years old, was shot and killed by police earlier Thursday morning after he allegedly exited the motel armed. News reports described Marshall as having an extensive criminal history.

Officials are in the process of reopening the roads that were closed during the roughly 14-hour standoff.
