CONCORD – Christina Lariviere, who was arrested in January for allegedly stealing checks belonging to residents of a Pelham elder-care facility and altering them before depositing them in her own account, is now facing eight additional charges stemming from similar allegations in other locations, according to the office of Attorney General Gordon MacDonald.

Lariviere, who also goes by Christina Soleil and Christina Melvin, was arrested late last week on the eight new charges, all of which are for identity fraud, and are Class A felonies.

Lariviere, 35, of 96 White Rock Hill Road in Bow, now has cases going in three jurisdictions – both Hillsborough County Superior Court South and North, along with Rockingham County Superior Court.

It’s at Rockingham where Lariviere is scheduled to be arraigned on the eight new charges, according to Kate Giaquinto, MacDonald’s director of communications. She said the arraignment is expected to take place sometime this week.

Giaquinto didn’t indicate whether Lariviere is currently incarcerated, or if she made bail or was released on personal recognizance pending the arraignment.

The new charges, meanwhile, allege that Lariviere, between July 10 and Aug. 14, 2019, obtained the personal identifying information of four elderly individuals without authorization, and allegedly did so “with the intent to pose as these individuals,” Giaquinto said.

The alleged victims – ages 100, 97, 92 and 87 – were residents at a long-term care facility in Londonderry where Lariviere worked at the time. Giaquinto said the information Lariviere allegedly stole included social security numbers, dates of birth, and identification numbers on state drivers and non-drivers licenses.

Lariviere is also accused of using the information to pose as two of the alleged victims, in order to open credit accounts and other financial accounts in their names, Giaquinto said.

She also said the state is seeking extended-term prison sentences on all of the charges against Lariviere, based on their allegations that in committing the crimes, Lariviere “intended to take advantage of the individuals’ ages and disabilities,” which “impaired their ability to manage their own property and financial resources” and to protect their own rights and interests, Giaquinto said.

The investigation that led to Lariviere’s arrest was a joint operation of the Londonderry Police Department and the attorney general’s Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation Unit.

According to Giaquinta, Lariviere has three additional charges pending in Rockingham Superior Court, which include one count each of theft, attempted theft, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

And in Hillsborough North, Lariviere has pending one Class A felony count of identity fraud.

As for the Pelham case, the grand jury for Hillsborough South, which reconvened this month after a several-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, handed up five indictments against Lariviere last week.

They include three counts of forgery, Class B felonies, and two counts of theft. One theft charge is a Class A felony, while the other is an extended-term Class A misdemeanor, according to the indictments.

The forgery charges accuse Lariviere of altering a $625 check belonging to an 84-year-old resident of the Pelham care facility, by making it payable to herself, and doing the same with two checks owned by a 79-year-old resident.

She is also accused of altering those two checks, one for $10 and the other for roughly $15, by allegedly “increasing the amount of the check,” the indictments state.

The felony theft charge, meanwhile, accuses Lariviere of using an 84-year-old resident’s banking information to make an unauthorized electronic withdrawal in excess of $1,500, which, the indictment indicates, Lariviere used to pay an insurance bill.

The misdemeanor theft charge accuses Lariviere of stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from an 88-year-old resident’s purse.
