MERRIMACK – A 21-year-old Nashua woman racked up what police describe as a “slew of charges” early Saturday morning, beginning when the officer who pulled her car over “observed signs of alcohol impairment” – including “fresh vomit covering the inside of the vehicle.”

Kelsi Cora, whose Nashua address Merrimack police list as 6 Autumn Drive, but which could be 6 Autumn Leaf Drive, had allegedly been involved in some type of crash on the Everett Turnpike near Exit 11 a short time before the officer spotted her car on Daniel Webster Highway near Front Street, police said.

The officer described the car as “heavily damaged,” and noted that it was “driving on a rim,” causing sparks to come from underneath the car, according to police.

The officer pulled the car over near Wire Road, and upon making contact with the driver, later identified as Cora, observed the alleged signs of impairment and took her into custody, police said.

But Cora allegedly resisted, police said, and allegedly kicked one of the officers in the stomach. Once they secured her, police said, they transported her to police headquarters, where she “continued to resist” and allegedly kicked an officer in the arm.

Cora was eventually booked on the charges, which police said include two counts of simple assault on a police officer, and one count each of operating under the influence of liquor, OUIL per se, resisting arrest, operating without a valid license, conduct after an accident and criminal mischief.

The conduct-after and criminal mischief charges stem from the apparent crash on the turnpike. Police didn’t describe the nature of the crash, nor say if another vehicle was involved or what Cora allegedly struck to cause the damage to her vehicle.

Once booked on the charges, police said Cora was released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, which they said is scheduled for Sept. 21 in Merrimack district court.
