The Jupiter opposition recalls one of life’s inevitabilities: Life isn’t fair. Because of this, the concept of “deserving” is slippery. If there are rules to who deserves what, life either doesn’t play by them or changes them so often that no one can keep up. This is precisely what makes personal integrity so important to define and uphold.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). It’s a lucky day to tell a story, give a presentation or teach because you’ll have a receptive audience. You become a better performer by responding to feedback. You’re getting pretty great at this.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Even though there are helpful people around you, ultimately, you’re the one most qualified to build the world you want. You’re the only one who knows the exact specifications!

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Denying an attraction will waste your energy. You don’t have to act on it to learn more about it. Further investigation will allow you to see what’s really there instead of the glossy sheen of what you want to be there.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Because you’re open and curious about how people and things work, life is always teaching you even when you’re not aware of what you’re learning. Tonight, you’ll surprise yourself with how you bring it all together.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You’ll do what you’re so good at and keep going with it until you’re the last one standing, then you’ll take it even further. Why stop? You may even set a record.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). If you feel like you’re grasping at something, it’s a sign that this is the wrong thing for the moment. Open your heart to the idea that there’s something much better coming your way.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Everyone is overprivileged in some way. If you think you don’t deserve something you have, you might be right. But since you have it anyway, you’ll keep finding new ways to earn it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). A friend asks for your time and does not want or need your money. But this person might not understand completely how valuable your time really is. Set some limits in your own mind, then enjoy the hours you have together.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Relationships teeter on an edge of being together or not. The walk on the edge can be the most exciting and interesting part of the connection. Keep communication flowing strong.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Resist anticipating the interests of others. Give them room to be curious. Let the mystery stretch out. Don’t give the answers before the questions are even asked. You’ll like how things develop with this laid-back approach.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Whatever you let go of, at some point you’re going to want it back. Everyone thinks this at some stage. Move forward. Whatever was lost was freeing your hands for something wonderful that’s coming.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). The significant accomplishments happen in incremental steps that, when taken alone, might seem unappealing. Daily choice is critical. Stay focused on that big-picture goal.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 22). Fortune favors your search for excellent partners, alliances and team members. Love blossoms, and somehow you feel both free and committed at once. On the professional front, you break out in some way, no longer constrained by convention. Creativity flows strong in you all year. Your resources will double. Sagittarius and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 10, 5, 33, 37 and 16.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Among the great wits of literature, poet Dorothy Parker worked at Vogue and Vanity Fair before helping shape The New Yorker in its early days. This jazz age Leo writer was born when the sun and Mercury were in entertaining Leo, and lucky Jupiter was in verbose Gemini. She famously advised, “Take care of the luxuries, and the necessities will take care of themselves.”
