This group of ladies were members of a Milford-based club called the Moreland 20th Century Club, also spelled ‘Mooreland,’ who gathered for this photo in 1981 to celebrate the club’s 80th anniversary. Just one of the women is identified – Loretta Aveni – who, according to the note on the back, is seated in the center of the photo. She was quite prominent in town, having been one of the founders of the Milford Pumpkin Festival, a longtime volunteer at SHARE Outreach, for many years en employee of the Milford Cabinet, and other endeavors. Loretta passed less than a year ago at the age of 103.
