Greater Nashua Flashback

By From The Telegraph Files via Fotomart - | Oct 15, 2022

(From The Telegraph Files via Fotomart) Some 75 years after a Fotomart photographer snapped this iconic photo of Nashua's beloved Dodgers in the home team dugout at Historic Holman Stadium -- with a portion of the near-sellout crowd in the stands above awaiting the first pitch -- the 2022 edition of their parent team, the Los Angeles Dodgers (at the time they were the Brooklyn Dodgers) are once again in MLB post-season play, hoping to take their impressive 111-win season to a World Series victory. (They're still battling the Padres as of this writing). While they called Nashua home for just four seasons, the Dodgers played a huge role in post-World War II Greater Nashua history, especially the role they played in the racial integration of professional baseball. Their story inspired "Dem Little Bums: The Nashua Dodgers," the 2002 book researched and authored by former Telegraph sportswriter Steve Daly.
