From The Telegraph Files

By Staff | Aug 7, 2021

This photo of Nashua's former Harbor School was probably taken in the early 20th century, maybe 10-20 years before it was razed to make room for a new, brick schoolhouse that was named after prominent Nashua insurance man and three-term mayor James B. Crowley. A fairly common misconception is that the Harbor School stood next to Harbor Pond, which became the site of the former Simoneau Plaza and today is Shaw's Plaza. But the wood-frame school stood at 4 Lake St., later the spot where the Crowley school was built in the mid-1920s. Today, of course, the former school, after extensive renovations and updates, is now the home of the Adult Learning Center. (From The Telegraph Files)
