Nashua Flashback

By Staff | Apr 10, 2021

From The Telegraph files Before there was the New England Automotive Village, the concept that created a "village" of car dealerships off the Daniel Webster Highway South in the mid-1960s, Nashua's new and used car dealers were located throughout the city, mainly in the downtown area. One of the dealerships that was a few blocks off Main Street was Clyde Garfield Oldsmobile-Cadillac, which was at 75 E. Hollis St. until Garfield moved south to the Auto Village. Today, the building, distinct for its large, top-to-bottom windows that showcased the dealership's showroom, is home to other businesses. Before Garfield opened his dealership there in August 1957, the building had been home to the Nashua Nash dealership since 1953. (From The Telegraph files)
