A gift is a communication, as is a song, meal, decoration, outfit and so much more. There’s little we do that is, in fact, not some kind of communication between people or between aspects of the self or the spiritual realm. The harmonious arrangement of Mercury and Uranus in Earth signs grounds our sharing in the values that really matter.

If the bull moon has anything to do with it, these delights may be gastronomical in nature, as Taurus rules appetite. It should be noted that, when faced with the temptation of a once-a-year variety of treats, it can be hard, or even futile, to resist. It may cut down on a lot of unnecessary internal conflict to follow the Oscar Wilde adage “The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself…”

Of course, physical appetite isn’t the only sort ruled by this moon. Essentially, anything craved by stomach, body, intellect, heart or soul falls into the category. As we get busy with life’s demands, we often do not realize what we want until the “hunger” signals become uncomfortable. But there really isn’t a good reason to wait until a longing becomes painful. The earlier you heed the call coming from inside, the more time you’ll have to develop and enjoy those things that most speak to your soul.
