Greater Nashua Flashback

By Staff | Oct 17, 2020

A speaking program believed to be connected to Nashua’s Centennial Anniversary celebration in June 1953 takes place on Foster Square, named for Maj. Gen. John G. Foster, Nashua’s Civil War hero, whose statue stands in the middle of the square. A man can be seen speaking just in front of the statue, while a group of Boy Scouts, political and military dignitaries, and residents gather around the triangle-shaped monument. Orange Street is at upper left, while part of the Farwell Funeral Home is visible at right. (Photo from the Mike Shalhoup Collection)
