By Submitted to The Telegraph - | Jun 10, 2018

Barbara LaFrance RN, FACHE, director of hospice and quality for Home Health & Hospice Care, recently completed the prestigious Leadership NH Program for 2018. Thirty nine talented leaders from around the state were chosen in a highly competitive process and participated in an intensive 10-month program. Leadership NH is designed to increase civic awareness and involvement and give participants a deeper understanding of the issues facing New Hampshire. The Program consists of 12-14 seminar days over 10 months, held in venues around the state. Participants meet with more than 70 presenters and prominent leaders.

“All of us at HHHC are proud of this very significant accomplishment by Barbara. During her 14-year tenure as director of our hospice and quality departments, she has demonstrated a passion for her work and for our organization,” said John Getts, CEO of Home Health & Hospice Care. “Her selection and participation in this program is an example of her desire to continually develop her knowledge and skills. We are all very happy for Barbara and appreciate her valuable leadership within our organization.”

LaFrance provides daily support and planning for HHHC’s Hospice programs, including the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She also provides guidance for the Quality Program, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to state and federal regulations. Her oversight includes a robust volunteer program with more than 250 volunteers.

With 16 years in health care administration, Barbara has a Masters in nursing and is board certified in health care management, as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is actively involved in the local health care community, as a member of the Northern New England Association of Healthcare Executives, the Visiting Nurse Association Health System of Northern New England, the NH Alliance for Healthy Aging and the Home Care Association of NH’s Legislative Committee.

“I gained an enhanced knowledge of the needs of the state of NH and how these needs will impact our work force and the health of our community. It was a privilege to be among such a diverse group of remarkable leaders who will continue to shape the future of our great state,” LaFrance said, of her experience with Leadership NH.
