Teen accused of chasing partner

By Staff | Aug 3, 2016

NASHUA – An 18-year-old Hudson man is facing charges that include felony kidnapping after police say he allegedly attacked his girlfriend after trying to run her car off the road.

Giovanni Flores, a 2015 Alvirne High School graduate who prosecutors said has no previous criminal record, was arraigned Tuesday in Nashua district court on the kidnapping charge as well as misdemeanor counts of stalking, criminal threatening and criminal threatening – domestic violence.

No plea was entered on the kidnapping charge because it’s a felony. Flores pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanors and is due back in the Nashua court Aug. 10 for a probable cause hearing.

He initially refused bail, according to a prosecutor, who asked Judge Martha Crocker to set it at $5,000 cash only – which Crocker granted.

Conditions of bail prohibit Flores from having any contact with the alleged victim and require him to stay at least 300 feet away from her.

The charges accuse Flores of following the victim, described as his 17-year-old girlfriend, as she left the Hudson Mall Shopping Center, 77 Derry St., in her car Monday.

The charging documents state that Flores allegedly stabbed the interior of his vehicle with a knife while following the victim "in a reckless manner" as they drove east on Derry Street and Derry Road before turning onto Robinson Road.

Once on Robinson Road, the charges state, the victim pulled over, at which time Flores allegedly tried to get the victim out of her car and coerce her into his, "not letting her leave."

He is accused of taking her cellphone and of threatening to slash her car’s tires, as well as those of another car belonging to a friend of the victim. Flores, in briefly addressing the court, asked Crocker to lower his bail "because I have no criminal past."

While acknowledging that fact, Crocker ordered that it remain at $5,000 cash.
