Hudson man to get more prison time, enters guilty pleas on two sexual assault charges

By Staff | Jun 28, 2016

NASHUA – Former Hudson resident David Dolloff, currently serving five-10 years in state prison on charges of possessing images depicting the sexual abuse of children, has pleaded guilty to a separate set of charges that could add up to another 10 years to his sentence.

Dolloff, 40, was sentenced Monday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South to the additional time in exchange for his guilty plea to two counts of

second-degree assault, which accuse him of molesting his former girlfriend’s daughter when she was between 5 and 11 years old.

Dolloff was initially indicted on four counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, but he and prosecutors settled on the two

second-degree assault charges and agreed to drop the remaining pair.

Monday’s sentencing came roughly six months after Dolloff pleaded guilty to 11 counts of possession of sexual abuse images in exchange for five, five-10 year prison terms to be served at the same time.

He also pleaded guilty at the time to one count of false report to law enforcement and given a suspended jail sentence. That charge resulted from Dolloff telling police that it was his father, not him, who had the sexual abuse images on his computer.

Monday’s agreement, accepted by Judge Charles Temple, includes a suspended 31/2 to seven-year prison term on the second count of second-degree assault.

Assistant County Attorney Nicole Thorspecken, who prosecuted the case, said Dolloff was arrested in October 2014 after the victim, now 19, revealed during a school classroom discussion that called for students to share their greatest fears.

The victim was not present for Monday’s hearing due to work commitments, Thorspecken said, but told Temple that she “is on board” with the negotiated agreement.

“She believes it’s appropriate … she wants it over with, wants to put it behind her,” Thorspecken said of the case, which would have gone to trial starting July 5 had the agreement not been reached.

“I intend to abide by the victim’s wishes,” Temple said in accepting the agreement and imposing sentence.

Dolloff, wearing a dark green jumpsuit and shacked at the wrists and ankles, chose not to address the court. His attorney, public defender Jeffrey Odlund, said only that he and his client agree with the prosecution’s account of the case and accept the agreement.
