Nashua to have NH’s largest liquor store
NASHUA – The 33,000-square-foot liquor and wine outlet the New Hampshire Liquor Commission plans to open here in August will be the state’s largest to date and the largest in northern New England.
The NHLC announced Monday that it is renovating the former NAMCO pool store at 292 Daniel Webster Highway and expects to complete the work to have its latest outlet open in August. The new store will replace the existing one located about a half-mile away at 269 Daniel Webster Highway.
"Work is underway on what will become the largest NH Liquor & Wine Outlet in New Hampshire’s history," NHLC chairman Joseph Mollica said in a statement on May 16.
The store will feature more than 5,400 varieties of wines and spirits and is expected to generate $21.5 million in annual sales, the NHLC said.
"This new flagship Nashua location will generate considerable sales volume, helping us continue to deliver record revenues to New Hampshire’s general fund," Mollica said.
The new store will be located at Willow Springs Plaza, which is located between Pheasant Lane Mall and Webster Square Mall and is considered "one of the most densely populated retail neighborhoods in all the state," the NHLC said.
The store will serve Nashua, Pelham, Hollis and nearby communities in Massachusetts, as well as 88,000 motorists who travel the F.E. Everett Turnpike daily and 23,000 others who travel the Daniel Webster Highway each day, the NHLC added.
The liquor commission last year opened a 24,000-square-foot Liquor & Wine Outlet in Salem, which at the time was its largest retail space.
The new Nashua store will feature high-end wine and temperature-controlled wine vaults, a close-out sale section and an interactive learning center that will allow the store to host seminars, tasting events and employee training.
