Area woman dances onto 2016 Patriots cheer squad

PELHAM – Following a monthlong audition process that began with open auditions and ended with the annual Patriots Cheerleaders Boot Camp, the 2016 New England Patriots Cheerleaders have been selected, and Pelham native Courtney Lamont has made the team.

Lamont graduated from the Lisa Pilato Dance Center in Dracut, Mass., and then went on to study dance at Dean College. She also taught at Boston Ballet and Lisa Pilato Dance Center.

The 33-member squad rehearses twice a week and performs at all Patriots home games in front of nearly 70,000 fans. Patriots Cheerleaders have also visited deployed military troops in more than 25 countries and appeared on local and national television.

The rest of the 2016 squad includes Vanessa Attardo, Jennifer Azarian, Mary Babbitt, Alex Brandy, Kayla Brunson, Zoe Bucuvalas, Andrea Cadigan, Tatiana Cifuentes, Jenna Cloutier, Alyssa Crane, Melissa DeChello, Allison DeJesus, Brittany Dickie, Kelsi Gotauco, Hannah LeBeau, Karen Link, Vail Madrak, Nicole Manelas, Jamie McDonough, Bailey Medeiros, Vanessa Obeng, Theresa Oei, Alyssa Petrarca, Jennifer Pinto, Alanna Powers, Lyndsey Raucher, Leanne Santorsola, Julia Scaparotti, Bianca Shaughnessey, Victoria Spadaro, Rebeka St. Fort and Jessica Strohm.
